Principal's Message

Welcome to Vinton Elementary!

We are so excited to begin a new school year! A new year means fresh opportunities to learn, grow, and work together as a school family. At Vinton Elementary, we serve about 320 students in PreK through 5th grade. Our classrooms are filled with teachers who care deeply about children and are ready to help them succeed. With tools like one-to-one Chromebooks in grades K–5, TeachSmart technology in PreK, and learning programs such as Renaissance/Accelerated Reader and ALEKS, we are prepared to give our students the very best.

Our teaching staff is AMAZING! They are trained and dedicated to meeting both the academic and social-emotional needs of every child. Our support staff also plays an important role, helping students, families, and the whole school community.

We are proud to use PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) to help students learn how to be responsible, respectful, and safe. This approach teaches students the skills they need to be successful in school and in life, while also building a positive, welcoming school culture. We can’t wait to see our students grow as leaders, problem-solvers, and teammates this year!

In academics, we follow the Science of Reading to teach reading and writing skills. In math, we focus on problem-solving and hands-on learning. We are excited to continue seeing great growth in both areas!

We invite you to be an active part of our school community by joining our PTO, attending events, and volunteering your time. Together, we can make this year amazing. Please reach out anytime with questions, ideas, or concerns—we truly value your partnership.

We are so glad to have you as part of our Vinton Elementary team!

With warm regards,
Denise Toler
